Hailing from Somo Beach in Spain, Violeta Sanchez inherited her love of the ocean from her surfer parents at the age of five when she received her first
official lesson in the waves. At the age of 14 she won the Spanish Championship along with a 5th place in Pro Junior Portugal WSL. She’d passed through a lot of heats getting good scores and beat pro surfers from all over Europe. In addition, she’s been part of the National team and assisted important events like the ISA Open European Contest in Santa Cruz, Portugal.
Sanchez notes that girls are in the water now more than ever, and the level of female surfing is constantly evolving.
