O’Neill is the place to be if you are looking for a wetsuit. Jack O’Neill co-invented the very first wetsuit. All our wetsuits are made to bring out the best surfer in you! Our collection consists of trendy wetsuits for men that will keep you warm during your water activities. You can choose from different styles, colours and thicknesses, depending on the water temperature. But we have much more than just men’s wetsuits. We also have UV shirts and rashgards, impact vests and different types of surf accessories. Discover our products and see which wetsuit suits your needs.
For all water activities
Appearance is important, but the most important aspect of a men’s wetsuit is that it keeps your body warm. A wetsuit fits tightly around your body and traps a thin layer of water between the wetsuit and your skin. This layer is then heated by your own body heat. Because a wetsuit always has good insulating properties, you can continue to do water activities carefree, even in the middle of the winter! Whether you are going paddleboarding, diving or catching a day of waves on your surfboard, with our wetsuit for adults, you are well protected against cold water.
Short wetsuit or a full suit
There are various types of wetsuits available on our website. Such as full suits and short ones. Below, we briefly explain both. Are you going to do a water activity in average water temperatures? Then a full suit is the right choice! Why? Because these are made of a thinner layer of neoprene. We also have mens winter wetsuits. Are you looking for a wetsuit for warmer temperatures? Then go for a short one. As the name suggests, this is a short wetsuit. Only the upper body and the upper parts of the arms and legs are covered. Are you looking for the right wetsuit under certain circumstances? Check our wetsuit guide in the next paragraph!
O’Neill has men’s wetsuits in various sizes: from XS to XXL. Plenty of choice! Are you not sure which size you need? No worries! Check our handy size chart. In the chart, we have also included other surf clothing and accessories, so everything is nice and clear. O’Neill wetsuits are available in thicknesses from 1mm to 6mm. The thicker the neoprene, the warmer the wetsuit. Depending on the water type, you choose the thickness. Tip: check the temperature of your surf spot beforehand. The thickness of a wetsuit is indicated in two numbers. For example: 3/2 mm. The number in front of the ‘/’ stands for the thickness of the neoprene on the back and stomach to keep you warm. The 2nd digit means the number of mm on the arms and legs for optimal freedom of movement. Below, you can see exactly which thickness fits which water temperature.
- Between 7 and 12°C: 5/4 mm wetsuits (suitable for a steamer, mens winter wetsuit)
- Between 12 and 17°C: 4/3 mm wetsuits
- Between 17 and 22°C: 3/2mm wetsuits or 2/2 mm wetsuits
- Between 20 and 25°C: a full suit is not necessary, a shorty wetsuit is enough
