The 2024 Olympic Bronze medalist and WCT veteran stalwart has been a prominent leader of women’s professional surfing over the last decade. Defay’s ten-year WSL career is highlighted by six WCT victories, including the ’24 Portugal Pro, and finishing 3rd in the world in 2022.

Born in Le Puy-en-Velay in the Auvergne region of France, then relocated with her family to Reunion Island where she began surfing at eight-years-old. Defay maintains a strong love for surfing and fitness. While not on tour, Defay spends her downtime surfing and training in Reunion and at her second home of Seignosse, France.
